Ondansetron is the anti-sickness drug used after chemotherapy and surgery, and it is very good at its job. On a GLP-1 programme it exists for one reason: so that the two or three rough days after a dose increase do not become the reason you quit.
It is prescribed as needed rather than daily. Most members use four to eight tablets a month, all clustered around the increase.
It blocks 5-HT3 serotonin receptors in the gut and in the vomiting centre of the brainstem. It stops the signal rather than treating the cause, which is exactly what you want here — the cause is a medication you are deliberately taking.
