What it is

Lipotropic support alongside your GLP-1

This is a support injection, not a weight-loss drug, and we would rather say so up front. The B12 component has clear evidence behind it if you are deficient, which a lot of people on a heavily reduced appetite become. The lipotropic components have far less.

We prescribe it mostly to members eight or more weeks into a tirzepatide plan who are eating so little that energy has dropped. If you are looking for a standalone way to lose weight, this is not it and your doctor will tell you the same.

What it does in your body

B12 is a cofactor in red blood cell formation and nerve function, and low levels show up as exactly the tiredness people blame on the GLP-1. Methionine, inositol and choline are involved in fat metabolism in the liver; the claim that injecting them accelerates fat loss is popular and poorly supported, so treat any energy improvement as the realistic upside.

How you take it
Every weekOne subcutaneous injection, any day, no timing rules
Week 8Doctor reviews whether it is doing anything for you
OngoingContinued only if your energy scores actually moved
Side effects, plainly

What most people get, and the bit that matters

Common
Stinging at the injection site for a minute or two
Bright yellow urine — the B12, entirely harmless
Occasional mild nausea on the day of injection
Worth memorisingRare but worth knowing: allergic reaction to any component, and B12 injections can unmask a low potassium level in people with severe deficiency. Your doctor screens for that before starting.
Who should not take this
Anyone with Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy
Known cobalt or cobalamin hypersensitivity
People with untreated kidney disease, without a nephrology opinion

This list is not exhaustive and does not replace the consultation. The intake form asks the questions that decide it, which is why the honest answers matter more than the fast ones.
